1 Overview

Groups are linked together to automate:

  1. The policy provisioning process;
  2. Actions that are available to run on the node; and
  3. Adding users to receive notifications from event exceptions.

Nodes put into the same node group automatically receives the same policies and actions that are linked to the node group.

Node groups are linked to actions groups for actions that are available to run on the nodes; Node groups are linked to policy groups for policies to be deployed to the nodes; and Policies are linked to user groups for notifications.

2 Liking a node group to an action group

A node group can be linked to an action group to make the actions available to run on the node. Users still require the appropriate permissions to be able to run the actions. Without the appropriate permission they are not able to see or run the action.
